Things to do before you eat

There are two major factors when it comes to people who are trying to lose weight. The first is that they eat on demand. The second is that they can't get themselves to exercise.

If you are one of these people, or if you know somebody that has these problems, then this will be a good article for you to read.

There is one simple practice that you can incorporate into your life that will help you reduce your tendency to eat on demand and also ensure that you are exercising each an every day. Both of which will help you lose weight.

The practice that I am talking about is doing 2 minutes of exercise directly before you eat. This means that before you even put anything in your mouth, you must first do at least 2 minutes of exercise.

This simple practice works for a few key reasons:

(1) When you need to do 2 minutes of exercise before you eat then you will reduce your eating frequency tremendously. It eliminates any possibility of unconsciously popping food in your mouth because you are always going to have to make a decision about eating. Before you eat you always have to ask: "Is eating this worth 2 minutes of exercise?". You are really going to want to eat something if you have to exercise before you eat it.

(2) It ensures that you will be exercising at least 2 minutes a day. Remembering to exercise and fitting it into your day is often half to battle of actually doing it. If you have a cue that reminds you to exercise then you ensure that you are always doing at least a little bit. Eating is that cue. We all eat at least once everyday. Creating a rule of exercising before you eat means that you'll always be exercising, if only for 2 minutes a day.

(3) It's how we are designed to eat. Until very recently all humans first needed to move their bodies before they could eat any food. Food was not available as it is today. Exercising before you eat is the way we were all designed to eat, and it prepares the body to receive the nutrients of the food before we actually eat it. Exercising before eating increases the likelihood that the food will stay away from your fat stores, and go to where your body needs it most.

There are many other reasons to exercise before you eat but the main principle remains the same. Exercising before eating is the way the human body was designed to work. If you are interested in losing weight, or even just taking care of your body, then utilize this principle in your life.

Even if its only for 2 minutes, always do some exercise before you eat. You'll be healthier, happier, and leaner. If you ask me, that's not a bad investment for just a few minutes work.
